This seminar has been organized to examine why the consolidation and merger of public institutions, repeatedly pursued by successive governments, have consistently produced only limited results, and to explore the reform principles and strategies needed for the large-scale restructuring now being pursued by the new government to lead to genuine efficiency gains. Together with experts in public institution policy, public finance, governance, and management evaluation, the seminar will discuss operational efficiency, improvements to accountability systems, governance reform, enhancing the effectiveness of management evaluation, and function-centered restructuring, with the aim of identifying a direction for public-sector reform that goes beyond simply reducing the number of institutions and delivers better public services to the public.
We welcome your interest and attendance.
