Announcement of the 36th Market Economy Essay Contest

The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) is holding the 36th Market Economy Essay Contest. Anyone interested in the market economy is welcome to participate freely. We look forward to hearing your story!

□ Eligibility: Open to anyone interested in the market economy

□ Submission Period: Monday, November 9, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to Wednesday, November 18, 2026, 5:00 p.m. (deadline)

□ Topic: Any topic related to the market economy

- Describe various everyday episodes that can be easily encountered in daily life through the principles of the market economy

□ Submission Requirements: 10 pages of 200-character manuscript paper (about one and a half A4 pages, approximately 2,000 characters including spaces)

□ Awards Ceremony: Scheduled to be held online on Friday, December 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. (via Zoom, etc.)

The awards ceremony will be conducted briefly, so attendance by all winners is required.

(Prize money will be paid after tax deduction)

- Grand Prize: 0 winner(s) (certificate and KRW 300,000)

- Excellence Prize: 00 winner(s) (certificate and KRW 150,000)

- Merit Prize: 00 winner(s) (certificate and KRW 50,000)

※ All winners will also receive a CFE book as an additional prize.

□ Other Information

1. Website traffic increases from the day before the deadline. Please register at least one hour before the deadline.

2. Entries must be submitted in the designated application format.

3. In the case of multiple submissions, only the most recently submitted essay will be considered.

4. Submitted entries cannot be revised or deleted.

5. Copyright for all submitted works belongs to the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE).

6. If an entry plagiarizes a previous award-winning work or plagiarizes/misappropriates another person’s work, the award may be revoked even after selection, and all legal responsibility lies with the entrant.

7. Personal information of applicants will be collected and retained for the purposes of judging, awarding, prize delivery, and newsletter distribution.

8. Winners will be asked to provide personal information (such as their resident registration number) for tax reporting, and prize money will be paid after withholding tax.

9. Certificates will be provided in PDF format, and a printed certificate will be issued only once upon request. Please note that reissuance of printed certificates is not possible.
