This seminar will provide a multi-faceted analysis of the impact that recently proposed platform regulation bills, including the Online Platform Fairness Act, may have on Korea’s digital economy and the competitive environment of the platform market, and will examine whether the EU- and German-style ex ante regulatory approach is suitable for adoption in Korea. It will also discuss the criteria for determining dominance and monopoly in the platform market, as well as desirable directions for competition-restricting policy and regulatory design.
