The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) is hosting the 3rd Market Economy Speech Contest. Share your voice on market economy issues embedded throughout our daily lives!

Anyone interested in the market economy

โ–ก How to Participate

1. Online manuscript submission

- Submission period: Friday, December 20, 2024 โ€“ Monday, January 20, 2025, deadline at 17:30

- Submission link:

- Manuscript format: Approximately 1,000 characters (excluding spaces)


2. First-round announcement

- Announcement date: Thursday, January 23, 2025, 17:30

- Successful first-round applicants will be notified individually


3. Offline Speech Contest

- Date: Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 13:30

- Venue: CFE Yeollim Hall (Sanrim Vision Center, 9 Gukhoe-daero 62-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul)

- Details: Winners will be announced and the awards ceremony will be held on the day of the final round


โ€ป The speech contest will be filmed on-site that day, and videos of the winners will later be uploaded to the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) website and YouTube channel.

โ€ป Participants may freely give their presentations with a tablet or printed materials placed on the podium.

โ€ป Wearing a mask and using a pseudonym during the presentation are not allowed.

The need to protect property rights and areas for improvement

Legislative measures to reduce illegal union strikes

Institutional reform to strengthen the rule of law

Why the mandatory retirement age system should be abolished

Practical ways to reduce government spending

Problems with protectionism and possible solutions

Why reducing the number of civil servants is necessary and how to achieve it

The benefits of privatization and how to implement it

The need to ease greenbelt regulations and directions for improvement

Public pension reform measures

Measures to stabilize the value of money

The need to relax carbon neutrality targets and ways to improve policy

Side effects caused by excessive minimum wage increases and possible solutions

Solutions for enhancing labor market flexibility

The need to revise the fixed book price system and how to implement it

Regulatory reform measures to strengthen business competitiveness

Ways to liberalize dispatched labor and replacement work during strikes

The need to introduce flexible work arrangements and how to implement them

- Grand Prize: 0 winner(s) (certificate and prize money of KRW 1,000,000)

- Excellence Award: 0 winner(s) (certificate and prize money of KRW 500,000)

- Merit Award: 0 winner(s) (certificate and prize money of KRW 300,000)


โ€ป All award recipients will also receive books from the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) as additional prizes.


โ–ก Other Information

- User traffic increases from the day before the deadline. Please register at least one hour before the deadline.

- In the case of duplicate submissions, the most recently submitted manuscript will be accepted.

- Submitted entries cannot be revised or deleted after registration.

- Copyright to the submitted manuscripts and the videos filmed on the day of the contest belongs to the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE).

- Personal information of applicants will be collected and retained for awarding, prize delivery, and newsletter distribution.
