Liberal Democracy Essay Contest

The 2024 Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) Paper Competition is now open. Anyone interested in liberal democracy is welcome to participate. Put your ideas into a paper and submit your entry!

□ Eligibility: Open to anyone interested in liberal democracy

□ Submission Period: Wednesday, November 6, 2024 – Monday, November 11, 2024, deadline at 18:00

□ Results Announcement: Friday, December 13, 2024

□ Awards Ceremony: Wednesday, December 18, 2024

* Successful applicants will be announced on the website and notified individually.

* An offline awards ceremony will be held after the results announcement. Attendance is required.

□ Submission Guidelines: Up to 10 A4 pages (based on 10-point font, excluding references, cover page, etc.; maximum 10 pages)

□ Topics:

- Submit a well-developed paper that demonstrates a true understanding of liberal democracy and constitutional values, with an in-depth discussion of the rule of law

- Analyze and discuss real-world applications and issues related to the rule of law through the paper

- 1st Prize: 1 winner (KRW 3,000,000)

- 2nd Prize: 2 winners (KRW 2,000,000)

- 3rd Prize: 3 winners (KRW 1,000,000)

□ Other Information

1. User traffic increases starting the day before the deadline. Please register at least one hour before the deadline.

2. Submissions must follow the designated application format.

3. Duplicate participation in both the individual and team categories is permitted.

4. Submitted entries cannot be modified or deleted once registered.

5. Copyright for all submitted works belongs to the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE).

6. If a submission is found to plagiarize a previous award-winning work or another person’s work, the award may be revoked even after selection, and all legal responsibility lies with the entrant.

7. The personal information of applicants will be collected and retained for awards processing, prize delivery, and newsletter distribution.

8. Winners will be asked to provide personal information (such as their resident registration number) for tax reporting purposes, and prize money will be paid after withholding tax.
