Peter the Great, the first emperor of the Russian Empire, regarded reform as essential to building a strong and prosperous state. What he considered even more important than political and administrative reform was economic reform. To commemorate the publication of How Did Russia Become an Empire?: The Reforms of Peter the Great, the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) will join the author, Dr. Pyeonggi Kang, in examining Peter the Great’s distinctive reform agenda.
For Part 2, writer Myeongmuk Im, author of What Is Russia Trying to Become?: The Twilight of Liberalism, Russia’s Return, has been invited. A deep and wide-ranging conversation between Pyeonggi Kang and Myeongmuk Im is scheduled, exploring Russia’s past and present, as well as the future of the Republic of Korea, from the perspective of liberty. We ask for your keen interest and support.
◇ Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2024
◇ Venue: Yeollim Hall, Forest Vision Center (9 Gukhoe-daero 62-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul)
