The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) is holding the 23rd Market Economy Essay Contest. We look forward to your wide-ranging thoughts on our daily lives as seen through the lens of the market economy!

□ Eligibility: Anyone who loves the market economy

□ Submission Period: Friday, May 8, 2020 – Monday, May 18, 2020, deadline at 17:00

□ Contest Topic

- Any topic related to the market economy: describe various episodes easily encountered in everyday life using the principles of the market economy

□ Submission Guidelines: 10 sheets of 200-character manuscript paper (about one and a half A4 pages)

- Entries not prepared in accordance with the submission format and instructions may be disadvantaged in judging.

□ Winners Announcement: Thursday, June 4, announced on the website and winners notified individually (award ceremony scheduled for June)

□ Awards

- Grand Prize: 0 winners (certificate and a 300,000 won gift certificate)

- Excellence Prize: 00 winners (certificate and a 150,000 won gift certificate)

- Merit Prize: 00 winners (certificate and a 50,000 won gift certificate)

※ All winners will also receive Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) books as supplementary prizes.

□ Additional Information

1. Website traffic increases starting the day before the deadline. Please register at least one hour before the deadline.

2. If you try to register exactly at the deadline, heavy traffic may prevent smooth submission.

3. In the case of duplicate submissions, the most recently submitted essay will be accepted.

4. Submitted entries cannot be revised or deleted.

5. Copyright for all submitted works belongs to the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE).

6. If a previous prize-winning entry is plagiarized, or if another person’s work is plagiarized or misappropriated, the prize may be revoked even after selection.

7. Applicants’ personal information will be collected and retained for the purposes of awards, prize conferral, prize delivery, and newsletter distribution.
