Aeran Lee, First Female Defector with a Ph.D., and “Neungra Table”

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, we visited “Neungra Bapsang,” run by Dr. Aeran Lee, the first female defector from North Korea to earn a doctorate, together with the intern researchers of the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE). It was a meaningful occasion in which, through the mild yet deep flavors distinctive to Pyongan-do cuisine, we were able to glimpse Dr. Lee’s determination to narrow cultural gaps through the dining table.
