“Still, Democracy” Book Concert

The “Still, Democracy” Book Concert was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Pureun Hall.

At a time when democratic backsliding is being discussed around the world, this event explored why democracy is still necessary and the practical challenges it currently faces.

In Part 1, Emeritus Professor Byungseon Choi of Seoul National University delivered a special lecture reviewing 23 fundamental principles of democracy.

In the following Part 2 discussion, Professor Minchang Lee of Chosun University served as moderator, while Emeritus Professor Youngpyeong Kim of Korea University, Emeritus Professor Byungseon Choi of Seoul National University, and Professor Kyeongdong Kim of Kwangwoon University took part in an in-depth discussion to correct misconceptions about democracy and examine the factors threatening democracy in Korea.
